So why Zilch?
The meaning of the word – Nothing.
Try answering these questions. If we don’t have Jesus in our lives, what are we?.... Zilch. If we work hard and achieve lots but have done it NOT for Jesus, what have we obtained?.... Zilch.
1 Corinthians 13:2 says, “If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.”
So doing everything without love, we are still nothing. When we strive and work hard for Jesus, all Glory and Fame should go to Him that we grow to be nothing in the end. When He increase, we decrease….. –John 3:30…. “He must become greater; I must become less.” There’s no way Jesus can be lifted high when we too, want our glory and fame. One has to be above the other and the Master is always above His servants.
C.H.I.L.L – Changing Hearts, Impacting Lives Lah!! Still remains as our theme for this year and for the other years to come. This is one which we cannot afford to let go. We were made and saved to change hearts – ours and others, and to impact lives not to mention nations and nations of lives. “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just a Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2. This is the verse which was chosen to support the theme for this year.
For Zilch, John 3:30 will support whatever we have – that He must become greater; I (we) must become less. For through Zilch, we aspire to change hearts and impact lives. Through Zilch, we look forward to see Jesus being Glorified til’ we’re nothing but tools He uses to draw others to Him. We also look forward to see CFers dig deeper into the Living Word of God. We want to challenge and encourage them to experience Him in a higher and more personal way and we do pray that it happens according to His plan. We pray lastly, that friendships in Cf will being built and maintained through Zilch – wherever they may be…..(around the world!!!)
May God bless this CF
